Session Description

Attending this session will provide a practical and relevant examination of mentoring as a manager. Common myths of mentoring will be explored and the value of mentoring as it relates to retention, promotion, productivity and development will be examined.

In addition six essentials for being an effective mentor will be identified.

John Thomas

Joining the Human Resources team with University of Missouri System, John serves a HR Consultant. As part of the Careers and Culture team, He supports faculty, staff, management and leaders in fostering high performance and finding fulfillment in their careers. Areas of emphasis for the Careers and Culture team include talent acquisition, training & development, performance management and retention strategies.

Prior to serving with UM System, John was the Director of Human Resources for Preferred Family Healthcare, located in Kirksville, MO.
